Winter is slow painting time; cloudy days, cups of tea, listening to music. Painting still life and working from photos, everything is still. In the summer I work fast to catch the light as nature is quickly changing. Winter light is brief and low, the studio dark by four o’clock. It is peaceful and nurturing to take the time to work slowly.
